HUMAN RIGHTS
The Chinese Communist Party killed 80-100 million Chinese people, and ruined the 5
000-year-old traditional Chinese culture, in just a few decades. Today
the Chinese people are still not allowed to think, say and believe what
they want.
In 1999 CCP started its cruelest campaign ever – the persecution of
Falun Gong. It targets 100 million Chinese citizens. Tens of thousands
of Falun Gong practitioners have been killed by the regime, and the
torture and killings are still going on at this very moment! I practice Falun Gong (qigong/meditation) which gives me peace of mind and guidance in life. I have been engaged in the fight for human rights
in China since 1999. This commitment is reflected in some of my
songs.
For instance They Can’t Make Me Waver is homage to the Chinese
Falun Gong practitioner Liu Chengjun who did many great things to stand
up for Falun Gong in China. He died in December 2003 after 21 months of
torture.
The song The Chinese Way tells the story of the suffering and
frustration of the Chinese people, but also about a positive
development; Chinese citizens are now withdrawing from the Chinese
Communist Party in a large scale.
